Matching Donation
Matching Donation!
Your donations can be even more powerful when you register them for Matching Donations!
A matching donation is a donation made by an employer to a nonprofit organization in matching the donation made by their employee. For example, if an employee donates $100 to a charitable organisation, their employer may match that donation with another $100. This means that the charity of your choice receives a total of $200 from your donation (plus your employer).
Companies offer matching donation programs for a variety of reasons, including:
● To show their support for the nonprofit organization
● To encourage their employees to give to charity
● To improve their corporate image
The best way to find out if your employer offers a matching donation program is to ask your human resources department. You can also confirm that Hope For Greater Good is eligible under your employer’s matching donation program by using the handy tool below.
Once you have found out if your employer offers a matching gift program, you will need to request a matching gift from them. The process for requesting a matching gift will vary from company to company. However, you will typically need to
provide the following information:
● Your Name
● Your Employer's Name
● The Amount of your Donation
● The Date of your Donation
● The Name of the Nonprofit Organisation that you donated to
Matching donation programs can provide a significant boost to HFGG fundraising efforts. For example, if we receive 100 employee donations of $100 each, and half of those employees' employers offer matching gifts, our organization will receive an additional $5000.
