Food Aid

We provide food assistance to families affected by economic and natural disasters

Our Current Programs

Sri Lanka is facing a severe food crisis, with food prices skyrocketing and shortages of basic staples. The crisis is a result of a number of factors, including the country's economic collapse, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the war in Ukraine. The economic collapse has led to a shortage of foreign exchange, which has made it difficult for Sri Lanka to import food and other essential goods. The COVID-19 pandemic has also had a negative impact on the economy, as it has led to a decline in tourism and remittances. The war in Ukraine has also contributed to the crisis, as it has caused the prices of food and fuel to rise. As a result of the food crisis, many Sri Lankans are struggling to afford food. The World Food Programme (WFP) estimates that 6.3 million people in Sri Lanka are food insecure, and that 3.2 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. The Sri Lankan government has taken some steps to address the food crisis, including importing food and providing subsidies to farmers. However, these measures have not been enough to solve the problem. The food crisis in Sri Lanka is a serious problem that is having a devastating impact on the country's people.
